A Guide to Seasonal Teas You Don’t Want to Miss
As fall settles in, you can find us cozying up at The House with a hot cup of tea. This season, we are so excited to introduce two limited-edition teas that capture the essence of autumn - Playful Maple Pumpkin and Loose Leaf Roasted Almond. These two blends have been crafted to bring warmth and delight to your tea drinking experience!
Playful Maple Pumpkin
Would it really be a fall release without some kind of pumpkin involved? This delightful and flavorful Rooibos blend has hints of apple pieces, cocoa peel, and pumpkin cubes, and would pair perfectly with your favorite pastries or treats.
Rooibos teas are caffeine-free and have a naturally sweet and nutty flavor. They are a type of herbal tea made from the harvested, bruised, and dried leaves of the rooibos plant. Once dried, the rooibos leaves are cut into small pieces and oxidized, giving rooibos teas the reddish-brown color and impactful flavor.

Roasted Almond
Our Roasted Almond satchets are a customer favorite, so why not introduce a loose leaf version? This delicious tea is a fruit tea blend of apple pieces, planed almonds, cinnamon pieces, and beetroot. The flavor profile is said to be reminiscent of an apple pie! It does contain real almonds, so those with allergies should avoid it.
Fruit teas are made by infusing a variety of dried fruits, herbs, spices, flowers, and other plant-based ingredients in hot water. They’ve long been consumed for their medicinal and aromatic properties, with the knowledge of the right combinations passed down through generations. These teas are enjoyed around the world!

How to Steep Loose Leaf Tea
Both limited edition fall releases are loose leaf teas, meaning they are whole tea leaves that are not confined to a bag. If you are new to loose leaf teas, here’s a few tips to help you out:
Tip #1: Loose leaf tea requires a tea infuser or teapot with a built-in strainer for steeping.
Tip #2: Place 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf, depending on the strength you like it, into your steeping device, add boiling water, and steep according to package directions. For Playful Maple Pumpkin and Roasted Almond, the steep time is 8-10 minutes.
Tip #3: Loose leaf tea is of superior quality compared to multi-use tea bags, so the flavor profile is more complex.
