What is a tea house without afternoon tea?

We are pleased to offer our deluxe afternoon tea services for birthdays, bridal and baby showers, anniversaries, or almost any special occasion. At a My Cup of Tea event, you and your guests will enjoy the luxury, variety, and deliciousness of an afternoon tea party.

Our tea parties include traditional tea sandwiches, savory bites, and dainty and delicious desserts with your choice of two of our premium imported teas. Every event is complemented with the beauty and fragrance of fresh flowers and the elegance of authentic silver trays and utensils. We pride ourselves not only on the high quality of our tea and delectables but also on our superior service.

Unique to My Cup of Tea events are our tea tasting and optional party favors.

Guests can learn about the origins, history, and attributes of tea while tasting more than one variety. If you desire, each guest can leave with a gift of assorted teas or teas and shortbread handsomely wrapped and ribboned for the season.

These special occasions happen in a 1902 restored Victorian-style home. The House, as we like to call it, stands at the corner of Carnes Avenue and Semmes Street in the historic Orange Mound community. The architecture is unique to the neighborhood, and tours are provided if desired during your event.

Besides celebrating your special day in style, choosing My Cup of Tea supports the work of the organization. We provide jobs to women striving to overcome poverty in the Orange Mound zip codes. Your party will be supported and staffed

My Cup of Tea only offers two dates per month for afternoon teas January through October.
